Caring With Confidence and Cultural Sensitivity
Promoting Respect and Dignity Through Hair Care Education
Our Story and Mission
Crown Care was created from a simple but important observation: many foster carers want to care for textured and Afro hair well, but often haven’t been given the practical guidance or confidence to do so.
Hair carries deep cultural and personal significance. For many children, it represents identity, belonging, and self-expression. When carers feel unsure about how to maintain textured hair, even everyday routines like washing, detangling, or styling can become a source of stress for both the child and the carer.
As a braiding practitioner who has spent years working with textured hair, I recognised how powerful it can be when someone understands how to care for it properly. Hair care is not just about appearance. It is about dignity, confidence, and feeling seen.
Crown Care was created to bridge that gap by offering practical, supportive training that equips carers with the skills they need to care for textured hair safely and respectfully.
Through hands-on workshops, Crown Care aims to ensure that every child in care can feel proud of their crown.
